🎸 Band Awareness & bear's Personal Encounters

While Echosians never knew for certain if members of Pink Floyd or their core management directly subscribed to the list, the band was verified to be explicitly aware of echoes, and it was known to bear that several record company employees were active or lurking subscribers.

bear's connection to the band's history includes direct personal interactions with multiple members. Two memorable such were when bear and kiwi subscriber DAve met drummer Nick Mason during his promotional book tour. (When he first came out, after a quick cleanup during which he'd acquired a small shaving cut, bear quietly pointed out the resulting bit of blood with the offer of a tissue (and a quick joke about not making any american jokes about a "nick" on his face :) which he accepted (at least the tissue) with thanks and used before going on with the proceedings.)
Later, bear and a few echoes-folks met several band members (including guy pratt meeting with "bloggers on dg's site") at a local pub in Oakland, California, during David Gilmour’s 2006 On an Island tour (which featured keyboardist Richard Wright). Unbeknownst to bear at the time, someone from the tour crew filmed bear during the event—a clip that was later included as a hidden "Easter Egg" feature on the tour's official DVD release "Remember That Night".
